CEEFIT Pulse & ECG: Maximizing the Performance Potential of Seaver Tools.
It has now been two months since our second-generation sensors were released. After dedicating our first article to introducing the CEEFIT by Seaver, it’s now time to unveil the CEEFIT PULSE & ECG.
Our goals of enabling riders to monitor their horses’ health and maximize their performance could not be fully achieved without CEEFIT Pulse & ECG.
CEEFIT Pulse & ECG is a heart rate monitor for horses. It accurately measures your horse’s heart rate data, both during exercise and at rest. Furthermore ,the effectiveness of this device has been scientifically validated by independent researchers at the University of Dijon.

The CEEFIT Pulse & ECG can be used with any type of strap thanks to its elastic fasteners.
This is a heart rate belt consisting of two electrodes, one of which is placed near the tourniquet and the other under the strap. The latter is used only with the sensor CEEFIT sensor, which clips on and off in a single motion. To save time, the CEEFIT Pulse & ECG can remain attached to your girth. Only the CEEFIT needs to be removed for charging. This new tool guarantees you time savings, ease of use, and comfort for your horse.
Horses are athletes. Their heart rate reveals a great deal of information aboutthe intensity of a training session or their overall physical condition. Monitoring heart rate allows youto adjust the training load andoptimize the horse’sphysical conditioning. In addition, this monitoring provides a wide range of features, enabling increasingly accurate and comprehensive tracking of health and performance.

Edward Levy, a show jumping rider and member of the French national team, uses a heart rate monitor to ensure his horses are properly prepared.
Since the CEEFIT Pulse & ECG cannot be used without the CEEFIT, you’ll benefit from the features and data described in the article“CEEFIT: A Closer Look at Seaver’s New Must-Have Tool.”
Adding the CEEFIT Pulse & ECG will then allow you to gain a whole new level of understanding of your horse, the training program you’ve established, and your horse’s health.

Seaver technology for a stronger rider-horse bond.
The heart rate monitor offers you the following :
Cardio in 5 intensity zones:
You can determine your horse's heart rate based on 5 exercise zones derived from its maximum heart rate (HRmax):

Très légère < 132
Lightweight 132–154
Moderate 154–176
Fort 176–198
Maximum > 198
The average FCMax is around 220 bpm. However, you can customize your FCMax with the help of a professional in your horse’s profile. This way, you’ll get customized exercise zones. You’ll know how much time is spent in each zone and, therefore, the difficulty and intensity of the work required.
Heart rate:
Seaver also provides your average and maximum heart rate for your session in bpm. You can also view your average heart rate by pace and a detailed graph showing how it changed throughout your session. You also have access to a “fusion” graph that combines your paces and heart rate variations.

Analyze how your heart rate changes based on your pace during your workout.
Calories burned:
This feature allows you to determinethe amount of energy your horseexpends. You’ll receive the total value in kcal, which provides information onthe total effort expended andthe intensity of the work in kcal/min. You’ll also find a graph showing the changes in the horse’s instantaneous energy expenditure.

Heart rate varies depending on physical exertion and stress. Cross-reference our parameters for an in-depth analysis.
Here are the three main features available when you purchase a CEEFIT or a CEEFIT Pulse & ECG—but that's not all!

Your Seaver data in real time on your smartwatch.
Seaver has also developed an app for smartwatches. Now you can view your heart rate and your exertion zones in real time on your watch. That way, with just a glance at your wrist, you’ll know, for example, how your horse is handling the current exertion or recovering from it.
If you have CEEFIT and CEEFIT PULSE & ECG and sign up forthe SANTE+ subscription, you can access features that are new and unique in the market.
The ECG (electrocardiogram) and resting heart rate:
Our CEEFIT Pulse & ECG gets its name from this feature, which was previously available only through veterinarians.
With Seaver, you can perform electrocardiograms and measure your horse’sheart’s electrical activity. For example, you can detect themost common conditions, such as arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation. In addition, you can share your ECGs with your veterinarian to establish a preliminary diagnosis without having to visit the clinic. You’ll also get your horse’s resting heart rate, which is an important metric to track and compare in case of health issues.

An electrocardiogram should be performed in the morning before any training session, in a familiar and calming environment for your horse.
Fitness Shape Test:
Seaver, in collaboration with Véronique Billat, has developed a fitness test. You’ll receive an overall score and a bar chart that will highlight your horse’s strengths and weaknesses. By taking this test, you’ll be able to clearly track progress or declines in performance across the following areas: cardiovascular fitness, recovery, as well as strength, efficiency, and biomechanics. It will be available very soon on the Seaver app.
Stress Assessment:
Based on sudden changes in heart rate, Seaver assigns a stress score out of 100. Stress in horses can be a source of real discomfort. Of course, riders seek relaxation and calm. They can then understand which actions or exercises, for example, cause stress spikes in their horses.

Stress in horses can also be caused by the rider's actions; check out the detailed chart in your app to analyze your impact.
Recovery time :
After exercise, it may take some time for the heart rate to return to normal levels. When your horse’s heart rate exceeds 150 bpm for 30 seconds, Seaver gives you the time needed to return to a heart rate of 64 bpm. This is, in fact, a very telling indicator of your horse’sphysiological efficiency.

Seaver helps you understand how your horse recovers from exercise.
The V140/V200 Performance:
Seaver also helps you analyzethe effectiveness of your horse’s cardiotraining. Progress will be easy to measure, as these tools will let you know your horse’s speed at 140 bpm and 200 bpm. After a season of training to improve your horse’s cardio, you’ll see higher speeds at those bpm levels.
First, you’ll need to gather your CEEFIT Pulse & ECG heart rate belt, your charged CEEFIT sensor, your straps, and your bottle of neutral gel. Also, check out our tutorial on how to properly charge your CEEFIT.
Next, clip your CEEFIT into your CEEFIT PULSE & ECG, making surethe blue lines are aligned. If your CEEFIT is clipped in properly, it will emit a blue light.
Once you’ve fastened the Velcro strap for a secure fit, take your fasteners. Then, attach the assembly to your strap, making sure to tighten the fasteners securely and center your Seaver equipment properly. If you don’t secure your CEEFIT PULSE & ECG properly, you risk unwanted movement and, consequently, inaccurate data.
Next, apply gel or water to the electrodes (and to the horse’s coat where the electrode will be placed if you’re using water). You can then place the remote electrode under the blanket on the left side, below the withers. Secure your horse properly, then start the session; you’ll detect your Pulse and be able to enjoy all its features.
