Alexandra Amar, a member of Switzerland's elite U25 show jumping team, has combined her passion for horses, her determination and a deep bond with her partners to establish herself among the discipline's promising young talents.

As a matter of course

"I grew up around horsesAlexandra recounts with emotion. "My mom has always been passionate about these animals, and she helped me grow up alongside them. "

Naturally, Alexandra found herself back in the saddle, enrolled in a pony club. "One thing led to another, and they never managed to get me off the horse again," she jokes.

A childhood surrounded by horses has forged a committed rider, who today wears Switzerland's colors with pride. But among her many memories, one remains engraved in her heart: the Grand Prix U25 at Palexpo.

Palexpo: a milestone and intense emotions

Palexpo in Geneva represents much more than a competition for Alexandra. "It's a mythical track that always makes an impact. I was lucky enough to experience this moment surrounded by my family, my coach, and all the people who are important to me."

In this competition, she rides Faramir, a horse born in her family's stud farm, who was not initially destined to join her piquet.

"He was very anxious, difficult to manage in his early days, but I felt a special connection as soon as I got on him."

With time and hard work, this horse has turned his anxiety into strength.

"This big, anxious 6-year-old horse, who never finished a round, finally jumped three clear rounds on one of the most impressive indoor tracks in in Europe"

Alexandra describes the experience as a real achievement.

"It was a consecration, to feel that he was giving me all his heart for his first Grand Prix at 145 cm, it brought tears to my eyes."

In 2025, heading for the top

After a 2024 season marked by horse departures and challenges, Alexandra approaches 2025 with renewed motivation.

"Palexpo has been a second wind for me. I took 2024 to rebuild a solid stake of horses and now I'm ready to take on the world."

Today, she works in collaboration with Edward Lévy, who supervises the training of her young horses, including I'm the Boss, a promising 7-year-old, and Fedora, a 9-year-old mare destined for major events.

"Dylan, who works with us at the stables, is doing a great job. We have high expectations for our young horses."

A busy life of studies and riding

In parallel with her equestrian career, Alexandra is studying law, which requires flawless organization.

"My life is a constant race between horses, my studies and my personal life. But I love this 200-an-hour pace", she confides.she confides.

What motivates her: progress and the bond with her horses

For Alexandra, the top level is not an end in itself. "What I'm looking for above all is progress. Feeling the evolution of my horses, every week, every day, is my greatest motivation."

This deep bond with his horses is at the heart of his daily life.

"Pursuing step by step a road that has no end, exploring new things with my horses, that's what keeps me in the saddle. With them, I'm constantly looking for new sensations and new ways of learning."
