As you know, horseback riding is an extremely dangerous sport. If you've never been afraid of falling off, cast the first stone! Fortunately, more and more solutions are being devised to ensure our safety on horseback. One of these revolutionary solutions is the airbag vest.

Here's what you can expect from this revolutionary accessory:

          1. A revolution for riders
          2. How to use it
          3. How it protects you

          5. Safety, comfort and style
          6. How to be even safer

          1. The airbag vest for riding? A revolution for riders

First used on motorcycles, the airbag has been present on the equestrian market for several years now.

In riding, this is a self-inflating vest that will protect your vital areas in the event of a fall. The vest consists of an inner tube (the part that inflates) covered with a resistant fabric to protect it, a trigger, a cartridge (of CO2) and a link that connects the airbag vest to the saddle.

          2. Airbag vest instructions for use

It's relatively simple. Simply slip your airbag vest over your jacket (or under adapted jackets) and mount up. Once you've done that, you attach your airbag to your saddle using the tie provided, which often has a carabiner or clip-on mouthpiece at the end, and you're ready to ride!

When you fall, the link and your airbag will disengage. The cartridge will then automatically empty into the inner tube of your vest. The vest inflates in a few hundredths of a second, just before you hit the ground.

          3. Why airbags protect you

          Airbags protect :

          • the neck
          • the back
          • the ribcage

These areas are the causes of the most serious riding injuries. That's why the airbag vest is an absolute necessity for riders who want to protect themselves.

          4. Which airbag, and for whom?

There are a multitude of airbag vests for riding. Weight, discretion, practicality. Seaver has compared them for you.

          5. Wear an airbag, yes, but without discomfort and with style!

Are you afraid of being cluttered? Don't want to spoil your outfit?

These problems are now solved. SAFEFIT by Seaver is the airbag you'll FINALLY be wearing. Lightweight and slim-fitting, you'll forget you're wearing one. It adapts to all body shapes (from XS to XL) and personalities, thanks to the customization you can do. Whether you prefer sober or colorful looks, this airbag is made for you.

          6. And in addition to the airbag?

In addition to airbags, there are other, less expensive solutions for rider safety.

For example, the SAFERIDE feature of the Seaver app (which you can download right here) is an interesting tool for all riders, especially those who ride alone.

All you need is your phone. Define two emergency contacts, launch a workout, keep your phone with you, and do your session. In the event of a fall, the app will detect it using your phone's movements. You'll then receive an alert message to let you know if everything's okay. If you reply, nothing happens. If not, the app will automatically send a message to your emergency contacts, with your GPS coordinates, so that they can come to your rescue.
